This highly-successful scheme, conducted in partnership with The JCB Academy, offers aspiring engineers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning a nationally recognised qualification.
Programme Overview
Position: Engineering Technician Apprentice (Level 3)
Location: Faraday House, Woodyard Lane, Foston, Derby, DE65 5BU
Duration: 3 years
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2025
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am – 4:30pm; Friday, 8am– 4pm
Salary: £16,000 per annum

Training & Development
Apprentices will undertake the Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship, which combines practical on-the-job training with academic instruction at The JCB Academy. The curriculum covers:
Engineering principles
Technical mathematics
Computer-aided design (CAD)
Mechanical and electrical engineering
Manufacturing processes
Quality control and maintenance
Health and safety regulations
Upon successful completion, apprentices will earn qualifications including:
EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)
EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering – Technical Support Technician (Development Competence)
Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (exemptions apply)
