The Carfulan Group, a leading provider of advanced manufacturing technologies, is now accepting applications for its 2025 Engineering Apprenticeship Programme.

This highly-successful scheme, conducted in partnership with The JCB Academy, offers aspiring engineers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning a nationally recognised qualification.

Programme Overview

  • Position: Engineering Technician Apprentice (Level 3)

  • Location: Faraday House, Woodyard Lane, Foston, Derby, DE65 5BU

  • Duration: 3 years

  • Start Date: Monday 1st September 2025

  • Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am – 4:30pm; Friday, 8am– 4pm

  • Salary: £16,000 per annum

  • Positions Available: 3

  • Application Deadline: Friday 9th May 2025 at 11:59pm

Training & Development

Apprentices will undertake the Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship, which combines practical on-the-job training with academic instruction at The JCB Academy. The curriculum covers:

  • Engineering principles

  • Technical mathematics

  • Computer-aided design (CAD)

  • Mechanical and electrical engineering

  • Manufacturing processes

  • Quality control and maintenance

  • Health and safety regulations

Upon successful completion, apprentices will earn qualifications including:

  • EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)

  • Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge)

  • EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering – Technical Support Technician (Development Competence)

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (exemptions apply)
