Carfulan’s commitment to local sport and community
For Carfulan Group, which is headquartered in South Derbyshire, the sponsorship highlighted the company’s commitment to backing local community, education and sporting initiatives. With many of its employees living in the region, supporting Derbyshire’s county side at Repton was a natural fit.
Managing Director Chris Fulton said: “It was fantastic to be at Repton School supporting Derbyshire against Worcestershire. We’re not only supporting the cricket club in Derbyshire, but also the school.
“It’s really important for us, as the Carfulan Group, to be supporting the cricket club in the local community. We have a lot of employees in the Derbyshire area, so it’s fantastic to support the day and local businesses as well.
“It’s fantastic to support not only the local businesses, but also to sponsor the game alongside our friends Baron & Grant and Fisher German. Thank you to everybody at Derbyshire – Jimmy Drew and the team – and to Repton School for hosting us.”
A showcase occasion
The matchday atmosphere was described as one of the highlights of Derbyshire’s One-Day Cup campaign. Hospitality packages sold out well in advance, with sponsors and supporters enjoying the unique backdrop of Repton’s historic grounds.
Jimmy Drew, Commercial Manager at Derbyshire County Cricket Club, said: “From Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s point of view, it’s fantastic to bring first-class cricket back to Repton School for the first time since 1988.
“We had a fantastic turnout, hospitality was buzzing and the weather was perfect. From a sponsor’s perspective, it’s brilliant to be working alongside local businesses like Carfulan, Baron & Grant and Fisher German, and to see everyone enjoying the cricket.”
