The Carfulan Group has announced that applications are now open for an Apprentice Accounts Assistant to join its team.

The role: 

The Carfulan Group are looking to add an Apprentice Accounts Assistant to join the dynamic and fast-paced Finance team. Reporting to the Group Finance & Operations Manager, the successful candidates duties will include:

  • Purchase ledger – checking and inputting invoices to Xero.
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations, posting inward and outward transactions.
  • Sales ledger – maintenance and credit control; ensuring that queries are resolved.
  • Assistance in the preparation of draft management accounts, including month end journal.
  • Processing of expenses and business mileage logs
  • Working alongside the purchasing department and providing cover when needed.
  • Supporting the department with any other administration tasks to ensure smooth running of business.
 
The desirable candidate will have good attention to detail, problem solving skills, analytical skills, team working abilities, customer service skills, confident Microsoft user, written & verbal communication skills, knowledge of excel, financial and commercial awareness and an ability to multi-task. 

The training you will receive:

You will be supported by EMA Training to complete an assistant accountant AAT Level 3 programme.

Your training will be delivered face to face from our Hub in the centre of Derby City Centre.

You will receive expert classroom sessions from experienced trainers and be guided through your portfolio and end point assessment by your own 121 mentor.

Your will complete your AAT exams following each module completion and the exams will take place at EMA as we are an approved test centre.

By the end you will gain an AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.

 

Upon completing AAT Level 3, further studies/qualifications will be considered by the company, should the candidate express a desire to further develop their skills. Apprentices also receive in-house development, with internal promotions and progression also available.

The job specifications: 

  • Possible start date: 30th April 2024
  • Expected duration: 17 months
  • Annual wage: £16,000 (with a yearly bonus, 25 days holiday + bank holidays and a extra day off for the Christmas party)
  • Working hours: 37.5 hours a week
  • Training provider: EMA Training Ltd 
  • Essential Requirements: GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English or equivalent (Grade 4/C/Pass)
