De Beers Technologies UK, at their research and development facility situated in Maidenhead, develops and manufactures both automated methods for diamond verification and sorting as well as equipment that can detect synthetic diamonds, typically required to perform at speeds of up to eight diamonds per second. They needed a faster solution for prototyping components for the equipment used in this process, using a Stratasys Fortus 360mc, supplied by SYS Systems they are now able to produce not only R&D prototypes but also production parts.
